Remarks:

Published under the pseudonym of Leo Vincey.1

This publication is a parody of the testimony present by Macgregor Mathers in the George Cecil Jones v. The Looking Glass trial that took place in April 1911.

Crowley wrote that the judge’s name (Mr. Justice Scrutton) was the ‘anagram of a sentence—not merely a word, mark you!—which asserts a pathological fact familiar to every Syphilographer and his clients, couched in the crudest and coarsest language!’ (‘cunts rot’)2
