1942.3  Although this edition carries the same ceremonial publication of the first English edition [An Ixv in 0 Capricornus (22 December 1941)]4 it was actually printed on approximately 1 February 1942.2

Remarks:

This edition was designed and put into print by Wilfred T. Smith at the behest of Karl Germer.  Crowley himself was not at all pleased with the production values of this edition and noted that while it was “a very noble effort, and ought to bring in a lot of people,” he complained that the painting by Frieda Harris, reproduced in black and white, was “so vile as to be hardly recognizable; the printing without character or style.  The whole booklet would disgrace a hot dog stall.”1
