Written by Crowley at Cefalu, Sicily. The original draft is dated July 1921 with the final version dated 16 September 1921.⁵

J. Edward Cornelius states that a broadsheet version was issued at Cefalu, Sicily in 1921. Additionally, he states that Wilfred Smith issued another pamphlet edition of this book in 1943.³
