Printed
for the exhibition originally planned for 7 – 21 June 1941 at
the The Nicholson Gallery (Nicholson & Venn) at 46 High Street,
Oxford.2
Despite Lady Frieda Harris’ arrangement with Nicholson
& Venn they withdrew from the agreement shortly before the
opening of the exhibition. Lady Harris was forced to quickly
move the exhibition to a hired room at the nearby Randolph
Hotel.1
Crowley only learned that the show would not be taking place
when he chanced upon a postcard in the window of the Atlantis
bookshop saying it had been ‘Cancelled owing to war’.4
The text of this catalog is
believed to have been written by Frieda Harris from notes
provided by Crowley.1
